Dry eyes – silicone plugs or smart plugs?

Hello, folks. My brother has been diagnosed with dry eyes. His ophthalmologist suggested him something new. He told him to try plugs, but he will have to make a choice. There are silicone plugs or smart plugs. He does not know which one to pick. I hope someone could help us.
