doctor choice for cataract surgery

Hi my mother is 80 and is supposed to have cataract surgery, however, the doctor that she went to is not board certified, but board "eligible", and is quite young. My mother is worried, and wants to know if she should look for another doctor. Can anyone advise?

Will there be pain?
