My boyfriend hurt the eye by rubbing it. . He was diagnosed with coronal erosion, but I don’t know how he will treat it. What is usual treatment? Will there be pain?

Commonly he will need to patch the eye tightly because this allows the damaged corneal epithelium to heal, but it also reduces the pain by preventing the blinking eyelid from irritating the affected area. There will not be the pain with this treatment as far as I know. He just needs to rest and maybe take some antibiotic. Corneal erosion usually heals within a week.
