Hi, I am desperately seeking for some positive answer and advice. What will happen to my baby? It looks like the little one has some hearing problems and the doctors are even mentioning the possibility of the Usher syndrome. And I have heard that blindness is a part of that syndrome. Is blindness really necessary in Usher syndrome?

As far as I know, deafness and blindness are two major symptoms of that syndrome, and there are three types of that syndrome, depending on the moment when the deafness occurred. For example, type 1 is when the baby was born deaf. But, I assume that it is still early to talk about that syndrome; there are still some additional testing that has to be done in order to see what is wrong with your baby so it might be something much benign than thought in the first place.
