A friend of mine was recently diagnosed with acanthamoeba keratitis. She has been wearing contact lenses as long as I know her, but has been living in India for the past three years. I read on the internet that it is often caused because of poor hygiene? Anyway, she now has photophobia and her eyes are terribly sensitive - will this ever go away?
