WAS IT NECESSARY THAT MY STENT BE TAKEN OUT?

I had my gallbladder out via emergency surgery and the next morning I was taken back into surgery for an ERCP and a stent was inserted. Was it necessary for me to have that taken out or would it just come out on its own? This was appx. 5 yrs ago.

pain and dischcharge

Elevated ALT & GGT
