outside of my foot hurting, what is causing the pain?

Why are my feet so tender?

Since backpacking, the soles of my feet hurt when I first put pressure on them. When I get up in the morning and walk around, or if I've been sitting a long time, it feels as if they're very badly bruised. Strange pain in my shin

My right shin, about half-way down has a rather odd pain in it. Feels like about the size of a quarter or slightly larger. Doesn't bother me at all when I run or ride, but I notice it when I walk. I don't think it's shin splints. I've never had a problem with those before. Any ideas?
