I'd appreciate any replies from anyone that this resonates with. I am a quite fit regular jogger, 5-10 miles/week and an exercise class or two. On new years day a run brought me some unexpected pain back/side of knee but mainly reaching down to upper calf. It came on about 4 miles in and I struggled on but had to walk and there is no pain in walking. Next day I tested it but stopped a half mile in. I then left it a week and tried a couple of light jogs (flat, slow, no more than 1.5 miles) and was ok.
Stupidly today (two days after my last ok jog) I went for a steep hill and longer jog and 3 miles later was in pain once more. Id describe it as aching at first but more piercing if I continue. Again in the same area; back/side of knee and lower than that too in the back of the calf.
Ive had many injuries, hamstrings etc but this has never happened, especially with just jogging! So it is annoyingly hard to diagnose for me.
Any help out there will be gratefully received.
