After experiencing awful bleeding and pain in my anal area throughout years, I was finally talked into seeing a specialist. He diagnosed diverticula together with abscess. What does this mean? Will I have to be submitted to surgery? Is this one of those diseases that never really heal?

Should i have fistulectomy

Should you really have this surgery? My Rectal Specialist told me that I will be in constant pain for up to four weeks and then six to eight weeks after bowl movements. Why should I put myself through that? Will the fistula get bigger?
