I'm 46 how quick should I run a mile in?

Hi I've recently taken up running (1 month) and I dont seem to be making as much progress as I'd hoped. First time out it took 13 minutes to run a mile. Now I can run a mile in 9.40 which has been my best time. 1.5 miles is taking 14.30 and I thought I would be getting faster and able to cover more...

Need a new plan of action for running

Answered by a doctor

Hey everyone. I'm starting to get serious about running, and I need a plan of action. Also, I play Ultimate Frisbee, which is so hardcore, and I get tired pretty quickly. I get discouraged fairly easily because I tire so fast, my legs ache pretty quick as well. I'm female, 25, 5'11", and...

Long Response Excercises, what are your thoughts?

I'm new to running, but I have tried running before but now I want to get serious. I'm starting out working on speed, because my stamina is nice (enough to run a mile without walking before getting winded). I will work on stamina more, but I found some Long Response Excercises that I found in...

Huge setback after ONE week off running?

Answered by a doctor

I usually run 5-7mi each morning on a hilly loop (mileage depends on route) and I typically run the 5mi loop in ~34 minutes. It's essentially a warm-up for my work-out. Today, after taking six days off for Spring Break, I couldn't believe my lack of performance. The loop is actually 5.2 miles...

How to get back lost motivation?

Just this week I seem to have lost all my motivation, so I decided not to let myself run or exercise. Reverse psychology!! I think I just pushed myself to hard and now am paying for it. I actually am looking forward to running again but I'm going to wait until Sat. evening or Sunday and see how it...
