Wearing socks 24/7 is it good for my feet

I am 62 years old and have just now come down with cracking and thickening of thenskin between a coiple of my fingers. It never resolves, but can it h intensely just as it heals over. Costisone helps on a temp. basis. No new soaps, ADLs, period. What'smup? Anyone?
