my period is late, but my birth pill cycle got all messed up this month, could that be the reason?

my period usually only lasts for about 3-4 days and typically starts a couple of days after i start the placebo pills. This month i missed about a week of my pills and then tried to make up for them the next week. My period is now 4 days late, could the change in my pill intake be part of the cause...
