pain in lower left quadrant and painless bruising in both testicles

My son is a body builder he told me a couple of days ago he had a hematoma in his lower left quadrant he said he could see bruising but it just looked slightly browner to me.. he does have pain in that spot. This morning he has bruising in both testicles, but no pain in testicles. Is this serious?
