Tonsillectomy- Pain and Recovery time.

I had My tonsils out on the 27th of october so 8 days ago now, and the pain the fast few days has been the worst than ever!!! :-( Its been painfull to eat and drink, and everytime I manage to eat or drink it kills my ear. :-( Has anyone else experienced this? How Long did it last?

I had my tonsils removed yeterday and when I went in I was not nervous at all. I thought it would be alright and fine. The day of the surgery was not so bad but last night and today [the day after] has been horrible. I threw up blood last night and I can barely swallow. I have to keep spitting...

Iam now 35 years old have had problems with the right tonsil for 17 years now. and have been putting off the surgery (recommended) by my ENT. However I am considering removing the one side only and not both. What are your thoughts on this?
