i had my surgery 3 days ago (so keep in mind any typing errors may be due to meds...lol)i made the decision to have my turbinate reduction and tonsillectomy done at the same time... i have read over and over again to stay hydrated!!!! who would have guessed that it could be so hard...i left the hospital the day after surgery and was feeling "okay" i kept taking my meds throughout the day but did not keep up with them that night like i should have...so yesterday i ended up back in the hospital extremely dehydrated! and i never want to do that again! they couldn't find a vein anywhere and i was so tired and wore out from the surgery that it made it an absolute nightmare... i have packing up my nose until wednesday so i have to breath out of my mouth which makes my throat even more dry! so now i am determined not to fall into the horrible cycle again...today has been much better, the dr. put me on some extra pain medication which has made it much easier to drink today...has anyone out there had both of these surgeries done at the same time? if so what do i have to look forward to the next couple of weeks? :-)

Hi Steph, thanks for sharing your experience having both tonsilectomy and turbinate reduction. I too will be having both surgeries at the same time and is quite terrified- XD more terrified than I was getting a C-section. Everyone including my ENT have told me the tonsilectomy recovery will be a painful one-yikes! and now I can only imagine how bad it will be having both. Iknow it's been quite some time since your posting, I was just wondering how you're feeling now. My surgery is scheduled for Jan-09. I will definitely keep you posted.
