Sore throat 6 days before tonsillectomy

Hi everyone, I am 35 and am scheduled to have a tonsilectomy on Nov 14th and have had a sore throat for the past 4-5 days. I know that it's only viral and not a true tonsillitis from strep, but will they cancel my surgery b/c of it? I'm hoping that when I wake up tomorrow morning the sore throat...

Holy cow, this was hell!

Tosilectomy horror! 3rd day post surgery.

All i can do lately is spit and spit and spit. I haven't eaten in 4 days. As an exception, i finally got down 2 bowls of egg drop soup about an hour ago. As for my voice, i sound very similar to that of a deaf person, i'm not sure if this is permanant or what not. Helpp me !!!
