North Shore Credit Union Spring Classic 5k

Well I finally got through it...my 1st certified 5 in 2 years or so. it was hard, but I managed a PR by over 20 seconds or so (18:22, 5:54 pace, gun: 18:28), pretty close to where I expect to be at this point, especially since I didn't really taper for it...it was more of a tune up for a 10k 2 weeks...

Law Enforcement 1/2 Marathon

Answered by a doctor

I ran a 1/2 marathon yesterday in Wakefield, MA. It was in the low 40's but the wind was brutal. Nice rolling hills course. I did it in 1:54. Not the best time for me (my pr is 1:48) but I wasn't running the race it was more of a training run for me. Had a great time and huge lunch after!...

What do you do with your race numbers and participation medals??

Your race numbers and participation medals?? Most of my race numbers are hanging on a door in the garage pinned together and I have my participation medals(I think I have 8 right now) just sitting everywhere making a mess of the house.

Motivation... for what its worth

Decided to tell someone other than my wife who is rather tired of hearing about it, so here goes. Sept my weight was 386, I started running (albeit really slow) and bearly completed a mile. As of last night Jan 21 my weight is 343 and I've completed my first 5 mile road run. At 6'6 and 300+ I'll...

White Rock - the 30 mile marathon

Answered by a doctor

First off, let me say, I'm wearing my finishers t-shirt and medal, and I didn't have to mug some poor, tired marathoner to get it. I could not have asked for a better day. It was about 30 at the start, sunny, and just beautiful. The course had great support, lots of water stops, bands,...

Hotter n Hell Hundred Ride Report

Held in Wichita Falls in late August, this ride is known for its searing temps and hot, dry winds. But not this year :D. A cool front moved through north Texas early Saturday morning, and at 7 am it was 68 and cloudy. It stayed cloudy most of the morning, with a very light breeze out of the north....

3M Half Marathon Report

Answered by a doctor

This is a short report because I am not at all happy with the results. I have had a nagging little cough for about 10 days and I wrote it off to allergies. It is the height of allergy season here and a little drainage resulting in a bit of coughing is normal. Things went well until about mile 7....

akron marathon relay

Answered by a doctor

My team finished 14th in the men's open division with a time of 3:00:40 at a 6:54 pace. Not bad for a bunch of old guys - I may have been the youngest at age 45. I ran the 2nd leg which was 5k. Time of 19:59 by my watch, not what I had hoped for but not far off what I expected. Excellent...

Heritage 5K Classic Race Report

So the alarm goes off at 5:30 AM (don't all race reports start this way?) and I get up and shut it off and go back to bed. This is an afternoon race and I don't have anything planned except relaxing this morning. Nerves are killing me, I wasn't this nervous when I got married. Kick around the house...
