Cant I get pregnant?

Is egg healthiest on first day of ovulation?

Is it true that the first day of ovulation the egg would be the healthiest? I ask because I am 40 yrs. old and want to conceive. With so much at risk already because of age I thought maybe the chances of birth defects are decreased with a "healthy" egg. ??? Maybe I heard a old wives tale.
