As we mentioned in previous articles during the last stage of the menstrual cycle normally a layer of endometriosis lining in the inside of the uterus is expelled, known as menstruation blood but instead some of the endometriosis tissues grow somewhere in the body causing endometriosis. Endometriosis also reacts to hormonal signals of the monthly menstrual cycle, building up tissue, breaking it, and eliminating it through the menstrual period. In this article, we will discuss how environmental toxins cause endometriosis.

I. What is environment toxins?
It is unbelievable that over 70,000 synthetic chemicals are used commercially and approximately a thousand more new chemicals are introduced into our environment each year such as insecticides, herbicides, gasoline fume, dry cleaning chemicals, personal care products, etc. These types of man made toxins accumulated in our body every and have a dangerous effects in our body system, especially the woman reproductive organ.

II. Causes
1. Stimulating the production of bad estrogen
Environmental toxins enter our body stimulating the production of certain hormones. It may cause high levels of estrogen during menstrual cycle elevating the activity of endometriosis.

2. Weakening immune system
Our immune system guards our body against the invasion of bacteria and virus, and regulates the normal function of our body. Weakened immune system might allow the forming of free radicals and other implantations. If the immune system can destroy endometrial cell adhere to the abdominal wall, causing endometriosis.

3. Inflammation
Environmental toxins cause inflammation in our body. Too much environmental toxins damage our immune and nervous system, weakening the repairing damaged tissue function that allows endometrial implants or adhesion to develop in other parts in the body.

4. Hormonal imbalance
Environmental toxins promote high levels of estrogen during the menstrual cycle causing irregular menstruation that increases the risk of endometrial implants and adhesion.

5. Stimulating coelomic metaplasia
Environmental toxins interfere with the normal function of cellular development causing some peritoneum cells to transform to endometrial cells.
