Anticoagulants and Thrombolytics

Anticoagulants prevent blood from clotting while Thrombolytics dissolve and disperse blood clots. Anticoagulants include Warfarin, Heparin, Certoparin, Bivalirudin, Dalteparin, Enoxaparin etc. Thrombolytics include t-PA, reteplase, tenecteplase, anistreplase, streptokinase and urokinase. Talk about them on this forum.

Warfarin diet restrictions? What foods are allowed when you are on this drug?

I would like to know if these food items are allowed in a warfarin diet:: Chocolate, hard candy, beverages such as Coke, Sprite,Dr. Pepper Seafood such as as shrimp, lobster, oysters, sardines in olive oil, mussels Beef, chicken,pork, turkey apple pie, cherry pie, pecan pie

I have been on warfarin for 3 months and have gained 15-20 lbs.  dr says not related to the Med.   I keep a log of what I eat and not even eating as much as I did before I started Med.

can Plavix cause weight loss.

I'm very active and my diet is good, yet I still managed to gain a lot of weight while on Warfarin!

I had a baby 6 months ago, I ended up with a blood clot on my lung and was put on fragmin and warfarin. I'm now off the fragmin and only on 8mg of warfarin a day but in the 6 months I've been taking them I've gain 1 stone 7lbs. I'm very active as I'm a dance teacher so I work out  at least 4...

I had a mild stroke and have been taking Plavix for 3 months. I have decided to take aspirin instead. Since then I have felt tired, drowsey, and headachey. Could this be withdrawals?
