So glad to find this. Only been on it for 6 weeks and hardly any of my pants fit. And I haven't changed pants size in decades! I am only on for another 6 weeks so I hope I drop the weight just as quickly.

I've been on coumadin for 13 weeks and I have gained 7 lbs. I walk 2 miles 4-5 times a week and I eat healthy. I chest on sweets once in awhile but much less before taking coumadin. So, I agree. Coumadin
does make you gain weight

yes, I have noticed weight gain with my warfarin. Dr blows me off says its age-related. I have noticed hair loss also. I had a craniotomy and worry because warfarin does not let your body absorb calcium in your bones. So many side effects and dr. ignores they make a lot of MONEY on INR testing etc.

I just started Coumadin last night. I am a lifer on blood thinners. I switched from Xarelto. I felt like I was having major side effects from Xarelto. It could be something else, but since that is the only medication I take, I wanted to see if the symptoms resolved. Even though I have visited this thread many times to read other people's stories, I still felt badly enough to switch to Coumadin. I guess I fully anticipate gaining weight based off of other people's experience. I used to weigh 90 lbs more than I do now and remember what it felt like to be much heavier and don't want to have to go through that again. I am not skinny by any means, 180 lbs at 5'8, but I have worked so hard for so many years getting weight off. I am going to try and stick to a mostly low calorie vegetarian diet to see if that can counteract the weight gain. I will keep you posted. My goal is to not exceed 1200 calories per day.
