Neck fusion surgery

I had neck fusion surgery ,c5-c6 in 2008. Then again in this past April c6-c7. The bone graft from the first surgery was removed and used for the second surgery. Now I'm in more pain than before the surgery.My question is ,is this a normal procedure (removing the first bone graft) ?

I am 8 weeks post op from ACDF c5-c6. At about a week out I had the crying spells and I think it was from wearing the hard collar and not being able to do anything.
