Scabs Five Weeks after Tonsillectomy?

I had my tonsils out on 12/31 and most of my scabs came off during the first or second week. But lately I've been coughing quite a bit and it feels like I still have a scab in my throat. My question is: Is this normal over five weeks later or should I be concerned?
