Hi, i am a 19 year old male who is 10 days deep in tonsillectomy recovery. i have had severe pain, trouble eating and drinking, but i understood this before the surgery. i have been drinking water and gatorade non-stop, yet a week after the surgery (which happened to be Christmas day) i went to the E.R. where the on-call ENT had to re-cauterize the left side of my throat..with no anaesthesia. it was the worst experience of my life. it is now day 10 and i felt the scab on the RIGHT SIDE fall off, then i spat out blood. it bled but stopped a few minutes later after i gargled with ice water/hydrogen peroxide.

is this normal???

..also my breath is disgusting and i cant get the taste of burnt skin out of my mouth, its been three days since the re-cauterization. does it ever go away?????
