Hi, I have esophagus carcinoma. Doctor told me that it is a consequence of alcohol and cigarettes (I used both excessively). I also had GER since I was a kid. I discovered this 6 moths ago and doctor recommended me to start with radiotherapy. Since I will go with that, I try to learn a lot about my condition. I would like to know this does Dolasetron have any effect on dopamine receptors or muscarinic receptors?

No, there are no effects. This medication reacts with 5 HT 3 receptors and has anti emetic effect in dealing with nausea and vomiting (after radiotherapy and chemotherapy). There are no numerous side effects, as muscarinic receptors blockers do (these are also used to deal with nausea and vomiting). Dolasteron is often used in combination with some other anti emetics which boosts the effect.
