My father has a pancreas cancer. He went to the surgery and part of the pancreas was removed. Rest of the malign cells is supposed to be dealt with radio therapy. He is attending those now, but feels sick and vomits all the time. He uses granisetron and I need to know what the long term side effects of granisetron therapy are.

Granisetron is a medication that block 5 HT 3 receptors (one form of serotonin receptors) in the brain. In this way, it prevents nausea and vomiting that occurs because of the citostatics use or radiotherapy. There were no bad side effects when I used it, except for the increased constipation. Headache, warmth feeling, skin redness might also occur.
