I have bipolar disorder and my doctor has prescribed me a drug that is completely new to me. I have never heard of it. It is called citalopram and I have no idea what it will be like taking it. But I am worried about the side effects of citalopram, as with any new drug. Can somebody please tell me from experience what the side effects of citalopram are?

I have taken citalopram for two years, but I have now come off drugs and I have been feeling great so far. I am sure it will not last forever, and I am ready to start taking medications any time, should I need to. I had fatigue and a general feeling of weakness when I started citalopram, but what was worst was trembling hands. After a while, things stabilised and I felt OK.
