Cartilage shift found during Bunion Surgery

While performing Bunion surgery my Doctor corrected a shift in cartilage he found in my big toe. Does this have any impact on recovery or should I have any future concern related to the cartilage shift? Is the cartilage shift normal? I currently have little to no pain 5 day after surgery.

Sternum bone pain

I continually and randomly keep getting a very sharp pain in my sternum bone that lasts about 5-10 seconds. I cannot attribute this any type of action or injury.

Flying after bunion surgery

I'm currently waiting for a date for my bunion surgery to right foot. My mum has offered to take me away on holiday after surgery to recover in the sun. Can anyone offer advice as to how soon after sugery I will be medically allowed to fly?
