burning right shoulder when drinking alcohol

for 10 years my right shoulder would get this burning sensation when out in the cold weather. Only in the last 5 years i've found that when i drink alcohol this burning sensation returns. its excruciating and can last a good 15 minutes. does anyone have any ideas?
