What could be causing me pain in the shins?

I've got some soreness in my shins and I'm guessing (hoping) that it's just some delayed onset muscle soreness from racing saturday and speedwork on sunday. i was hoping to run this afternoon, but now I'm not sure I should. On the one hand, running might loosen things up and I'd feel better, on...

Anyone use speedlaces?

I just bought them and love them. They take a little while to install in the shoes but overall work very well. I just hate tying and worrying about my shoes becoming untied. At 12.00$ they really are not that bad (it just takes a week to get them) I got the non elastic type. speedlaces

How do you log your speedwork?

Do you figure out the distance and add it in your miles per week? Or do you consider it a separate run and not add it toward your distance total? I don't do speedwork on a track, so I'm never sure exactly how far I've gone on speed day.

I am running my approximately 40th race this morning and I just realized that I am not nervous about it. I used to get nervous that I hadn't trained enough or that I would go out to fast or to slow etc. Now I just show up and race. Granted right before the start I start concentrating on running...

How do i find the cause of my leg pain?

Ever since I’ve bought this new pair of running shoes I have a leg pain on the inside of shin. I have no idea whether that’s because of the new shoes or something else. Is there a possibility that shoes have the impact of other parts of the leg, other than feet? How to find out what...

Runners are stubborn

...most runners are proud and stubborn and that's why we try to run through pain resulting in injuries. No matter how many times fellow runners and books tell you to rest, you don't. It's pointless. I'm not hurt. Just a thought.
