Training suggestions for my fist marathon

Answered by a doctor

I have decided to run my first marathon. I have some doubts as to my form and ability to complete the race. I have been preparing for it for a couple of months. I would like to test myself and see if I have any chances in such competition. Do you have any training suggestions for my first marathon?

What are your thoughts on running barefoot?

Answered by a doctor

My friends and I enjoy running. Recently they got a crazy idea that we should run barefoot. Supposedly that way we are in a touch with the ground and get some energy from the Earth. I dont feel like doing it especially because my feet are sensitive and I cannot imagine myself running barefoot.

eliptical training for running

Answered by a doctor

I'm a keen club runner of over a decade's experience, but over recent years I've become more concerned about regular injuries. The latest crazy plan is to try to do nearly all my training on an eliptical trainer especially the distance work. What I want to know is how to compare...

Breaking 17:00 in a 5k

I'm a sophomore in highschool, currently running as the number one runner on varsity cross country. We've had two meets so far this year, and my times were 17:25 and 17:22. I'm really looking to break 17:00, and I just know it's in there somewhere, I'm positive I can do it. So I have a few...

What is the most effective way to train for long distance running?

Answered by a doctor

I’m a long distance runner and I’ve noticed that when I try to cover as much miles as possible every day, I’m only exhausted and I very frequently can’t run even the half of my planned route the next day. It’s very inefficient way of training and since I’m not a...

looking for a 1/2 marathon plan.

Answered by a doctor

Guys and gals, anyone have a sure-fire plan for running the half? I just got one from runner's world, but I'm not sure if I'll like it. (too much track work) I also have used Hal Higdon before, and that was OK. I just want to try something new, mix it up a bit. If you have a surefire...

Can you rate your own running skills?

Answered by a doctor

Can you rate your running skill? Just out of curiosity I’d like to know how to you perceive yourself and your running technique and skill. I can’t boast with mine, unfortunately, but I’m working on it and I hope it’s going to be better soon. I’m trying very hard and the...
