Can parathyroid condition cause dry eyes?

Hello, folks. My mother has dry eyes and I would like to know what could cause this. She had some parathyroid condition several years ago and now I wonder whether this could be the cause for dry eyes. What do you think? I would appreciate all your advices. Thanks in advance.
