Pedyculosis

Is pedyculosis easily transmitted? My 5 years old child has pedyculosis, so I wonder if I can get it from him. Is there a way of preventing transmission of pedyculosis? I’ve noticed that he has got it about a week ago. I have no symptoms. What do you think?
