That is, do only males who have reached puberty and gained the ability to ejaculate experience a refractory period after orgasm, or do pre-pubertal boys experience it also? Basically I'm wondering whether boys below the age of puberty can or cannot masturbate themselves to orgasm several times in a row, or if they too experience a delay. That is, does the refractory period kick in only after ejaculation is possible, or it is something males always have?
I'm kind of embarrassed to ask as I am male and lived thru the relevant portion of life but for the life of me I can't recall ever having tried to resume masturbation after having achieved one orgasm back then.

Hey bob so to answer your question if someone reaches orgasm then typically they go through a refractory period although it may be shorter than after one ejaculates.... the refractory period also usually increases with age after puberty....
