I received my first ever cortisone shot in my right shoulder last Tuesday, March 7th. That same day, the urgency to urinate started in. I'm having a hard time holding it until I can get into my bathroom and get myself sat down on my toilet!!!

I am to get a cortisone epidural in my neck next week. I'm unnerved! If the shot has this affect on me, what's the epidural going to do??? Will I have to wear ADULT DIAPERS from now on??? I am only 69!

No. I do not have diabetes.

Hello, LANeeman.

It is unlikely that receiving a cortisone shot in your right shoulder would cause frequent urination as cortisone shots are localized to the site of injection and do not typically affect the urinary system.

Frequent urination could be caused by a number of factors, including urinary tract infections, bladder problems, or even certain medications. It is possible that the frequent urination is unrelated to the cortisone shot, and you should consider seeing a doctor to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms.

If you experience any other symptoms or side effects after receiving a cortisone shot, such as fever, swelling, or difficulty breathing, it is important to seek medical attention immediately.

You can consult when you go for epidural.
