I am great fan of Lance Armstrong but I become interested about this extraordinary sportsman when I heard that he won battle against cancer. After that I have read everything I found about him and his cycling career. I know that he won 7 times on the Tour the France but I don't know much about this famous race. I heard about long tradition which this race has but basically it is everything I know. If someone knows more details about it I would be glad to hear.

Tour de France is the most famous cycling race in the World. It lasts since 1903 when it was organized for the very first time. Since than every year there were more and more competitors. Last year winner gets prize of 450 000 Euros. Race is consisted from several stages and final stage always finishes on the Champs-Elysees in Paris. Also it is known as the most difficult race. As you have already mentioned Lance Armstrong won seven times, but also there were riders who have won for 5 times.
