If you want more of this, with serious yet funny commentary, I recommend The Worst Rock'n'Roll Records of All Time, by O'Donnell and Gutterman. My edition is from the late 80's - and they desparately need to do updates. Only because you think the music then could not have gotten any worse. It not only gives the worst 50 singles of all time (and it is confined to the rock era - Beatles and continuing - and only one novelty song in the lot!), but the worst 50 albums, as well as special features like siblings who should never have tried to cash in on their famous family members, worst covers (songs, not album artwork), actors who tried (but not very hard) to make records, and many more. To be fair, I believe Mr. O'Donnell also did this with the 50 best in a separate book.

I could listen to Everybody Wang Chung Tonight for hours. It reminds me of Frazier's bachelor party.

There a true sh!t song out now by Hoobestank that ranks right up there... I don't remember the name of it though.

Clapton is an icon but Wonderful Tonight makes me want to hurl.

They're in the book I mentioned - 2525 came in at #3, I believe. I assume you mean the Guess Who original of AW, and not Lenny's remake. Another reason they need a book update - only one song on the VH1 list is in it... "We Didn't Start The Fire."

In terms of lyrics and how they make me feel. I'd choose "Reeling in the Years" I think its by "Steely Dan",  "What a Fool Believes" Michael McDonald and "Even a Loser" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.  I'm not saying these are bad songs per se.  I see them personally as bad songs because when I hear their lyrics I feel emotionally crushed. I feel completely discouraged. IOW I see these song as total downers. I do ike other songs by these artist but definitely not these examples.
