Whats the best exercise to work my calfes?

Whenever I move up in weight on the calf press, my feet hurt so bad (along the bottom/outside of foot from top of heel to bottom of ball.) It's kind of an extreme tenseness, and it hurts like a beast. I don't feel my calves really being worked at the lower weights, and this problem persists even...

Why after working out am i sore the next day?

I usually work out in the early AM with the weights. Throughout the day I start to feel it more and more in my muscles but it's not until I actually go to sleep and wake up that I'm actually sore?
