Never used them. I always preferred to change the plates myself.

i don't have a big space for plates - or any to start from... i thought the dials might be a good way to do it.

Power Blocks?? Kinda like the bo flex ones I think. Never used them but the concept seems cool. Expensive I'm sure. 8O

yeah but if you can't move the weight once - it's nice to have a midpoint to work with... :|

OK.. I had to take a block to work and weigh it on the digital scale.
Handle and 1 plate 9lbs
Add second plate 14lbs (+6lbs)
Add third plate 19lbs (+5lbs)
Add fourth plate 24lbs (+5lbs)
Add fifth plate 29lbs (+5lbs)
Add sixth plate 35lbs (+6lbs)
Add seventh plate 38lbs (+4lbs)
Add eigth plate 45lbs (+7lbs)
So it looks like each section adds on average, 5 lbs.
And lemme tell ya..at 45 lbs on an over the shoulder tricep curl or concentration curl is not that easy for most folks...

ranger - thanks for the pm, i've been sick and not exactly strolling through the forums steadily :)

looks about par for the other dials. i think the one (i don't remember the make) i initially tried was 2.5lbs up to 30, and then up 5lbs afterward... i think.

either way i know i'll have to hit the store to find out for sure. thanks for the info.

I have a bowflex that I bought a couple of months. I like it and I’ve seen quick muscle development with it. Primarily for the reason that you got resistance in 2 way.

Somewhat that nearly all people don’t execute properly with free weights. I say this since most people utilize all the muscle dragging the weight headed for them but loosen up further when going back to the first pose of the work out.

Yes I've seen the bowflex ones. You're pretty limited though in the amount of weight you can do.
