Do I burn more with easy or tempo runs?

I want to shed a few pounds. It is not that I am a too fat. However I could do without a beer belly. I want to start to run to improve my health and lose some fat. I am confused as to what kind of running burns more calories. Do I burn more with easy or tempo runs?

Morning Running :: This is good for me, right?

Answered by a doctor

So I've tried to get in a few extra miles in the early AM. I'm not a morning runner. I've tried before and I just can't get a decent pace going compared to what I can run in the afternoons. So this morning I did a tempo run and I hit a 7:20 pace for 3.5 miles. If I had run that same route in the...

Does having flat feet automatically mean you're an overpronator?

I'm 13, 5'6, 145 lbs and have EXTREMELY flat feet. Does having flat feet automatically mean you're an overpronator? because when I'm running I feel like I'm running on the outside of my feet. If so, I highly doubt there are shoes that are a mix between motion control and stability, because on...

Hope this is in the right forum.... My SO is debating getting back into running this Fall. The two of us have run a small handfull of races over the last 6 months, all of them at her speed. Earlier this morning, we did a local 5K in 32 minutes even. I probably could have run at least 5 minutes...

Can i do any damage while running in wrong shoes?

Answered by a doctor

O.K....since my wife and I got back into running I knew it was important for us to go and get fitted for some new shoes. The shoes I have are WAY too cushioned for someone of my size. But I thought while I waited for payday to arrive (tomorrow) we could still use what we have. Just run soft and...

Shoe knowledge is important?

Hey there! I’ve started running recently and I’m still a rookie. I used to run occasionally earlier but it never became a constant activity. Then I wore running shoes that I liked. I didn’t know that there was a difference among running shoes. This time I wanted to learn something...

When you're too old to become a pro?

I am getting better and better each day. I keep improving all the time. I wish I entered competitions much earlier in my life. I could have become pro. I would appreciate your opinion on my problem. What are you supposed to do when you’re too old to become a pro?
