I was on Lexapro for 6 months and gained 40lbs. My doctor switched me over to Viibyrd. I started the starters pack for about 5 days and started to have vivid dreams. I stopped taking Viibryd and now I have nightmares where I half awake in my dreams trying to scream and nothing comes out. Today is my 6th day off of anything . I do have Vertigo which comes and goes. I initially took Lexapro for depression and anxiety. I feel fine except for the nightmares and Vertigo. Is it normal to have nightmares going through the withdrawal process?

I'm in somewhat similar situation to yours - I'm gaining way way too much weight on Seroxate (combined with Lamictal & Clonazepam). So far I'm glad I got out of my worst depressed state, but the weight gain is really big problem with these meds. Before Seroxat, I was on 100mg Zoloft for about six months and then just all of the sudden my former psych switched me to Sulpiride. You can imagine how bad withdrawal symptoms were, and yes, I too had nightmares or not precisely nightmares as in dreaming something frightening, but more like I'm trying to escape from something and I'm not successful.
So, are you planning to be antidepressant free?
