I take Paxil daily for depression and anxiety, also have lorazepam (Ativan) to take when needed , I am hoping I won’t get the anxiety after I get injection in my knee next week and if I do I hope taking my lorazepam will stop it.

Question I’m confused are you saying that two years later after your cortisone shot your still feeling sis effects ? Or are you ok Now did they subside ? How long does it really take for that awful drug to leave the body or is it permanent inside us once we get the shot

I got a cortisone shot for recurring sinus infection 2 weeks ago, and now my usual, clockwork period is late.

I am so glad that i found this site. It has help explain some of the symptoms that I am still having after a month of receiving a cortisone injection in my hip bursa. I still am anxious, jittery, low mood and sleep deprived. I am 82 and in good health until i experienced hip and back pain when walking a short distance. I used to walk 2 miles a day. Not any more. I want to be back to normal! Am scared this won't go away, but hopeful because of all of everything that i have read on this site. Thank you

Can I just say that every single one of you have helped me tremendously. I had an injection in my hand a week ago and a few days ago I started having panic attacks, chest pain, and crippling anxiety anytime I got into my car to drive somewhere. I even went to my doctor and got an ECG because I thought I was having a heart attack. Thank you for letting me know I'm not crazy, and that with time, this too shall pass

I've gone thru 3 rounds of steroid/anesthetic shots in my SI joints. I asked the doctor to give me the maximum on the last injections. I immediately felt the anesthetic take effect, and a few hours later the cortisone as well. Along with the ease of pain came some anxiety which I was warned about. I was prescribed tizanidine which helps me fall asleep and alprazolam for anxiety (.5mg). Have to take the bad with the good, I hope everyone ends with a succes story.

How can this be that I have these internal tremors and shaking and or anxiety 7 weeks after 2 injections. My last one was 7/29/22 and I can’t stop it. I’ve been to 8 doctors and no one has an answer. These shots are from hell… After two cortisone injections I went into a full blown psychosis. Panic attacks , hallucinations, digestive pain, fainting etc. I lost so much weight because I could not eat. It was to the point I was 5150 because I became a danger to myself. I finally got on lexapro and while it has helped I still live with anxiety every day. It’s been 3 months and I am going to a new Psychiatrist to see if I need something else. This is hard to treat but I am holding on because of all these stories. Thank you guys for sharing. I am praying there is hope at the end of this.

It definitely effects your hormones from what I am reading so that’s definitely a possibility if your horonines are out of Wack to have these symptoms, wish I was more help but I am also dealing with the insomnia and anxiety from my shot three weeks ago I got extra irratble with my period .

Did it ever get better? I’m only 16 and I got injections in my back on July 27th and had panic attacks 3 weeks after. Now I feel like I’m gonna faint and my anxiety is to the roof not including nausea and can’t eat. Please if anyone has an answer. I’m scared it won’t get better

I had an epidural steroid injection and I will never do it again. I had it Wednesday. I slept good Wednesday night.
Thursday I was so fatigued it was awful.
Thursday night I had insomnia I had to get out of bet and run in place. The day I am having restlessness, Anxiety through the roof, heart palpitations.
I take meds for anxiety and depression. I think there’s an interaction.
I pray I will feel better very soon. This is messing me up.
