I am suffering from COPD and because of that, my life has changed a lot due to occasional visits to hospital and a constant medication therapy. Anyway, I am about to start wit NAC treatment, as it should be very helpful, at least that is what the doctors say. But since I also have stomach problems from time to time, did anyone experience bad diarrhea while using this medication?

Well, I have to say that the occurrence of side effects when using NAC is very possible. Actually, the last study done says that almost 20% of the patients showed some of the following side effects: nausea, stomach pain, headache dry mouth, vomiting, dizziness etc. So it is not a mild medication, but it helps, so I assume you can try it and if the side effects kick in and it is something you will not be able to handle, you can stop the therapy.

I believe diarrhea on NAC is related to one’s mix of GI flora. After using a probiotic a friend started having diarrhea on NAC when they never had it before on the same dose and brand.
