I have been suffering from COPD for the past couple of months and I admit that it was probably caused by my excessive smoking. I don’t smoke now but the illness is already here. Anyway, I am on the therapy but there are stories about NAC helping with lung problems. Can that medication really help me or is it just another false hope?

N-Acetylcysteine or simply NAC should actually eliminate the requirement for hospitalization in people that suffer from COPD. NAC decreases levels of homocysteine in the patient’s body, the substance responsible for heart disease occurrence. It also reduces the mucus accumulated in bronchial passages, which is very helpful for people that have lung issues.
