Had a shot in my right knee yesterday at about 10am...woke up this morning with a crushing headache......I don't get headaches so I got on line to check cortisone side effects and headaches is not mentioned....then I found this site and see that I'm not alone.....I've been taking 3200mg of ibuprofen daily for the knee so I continued it today but it didn't touch the headache......my wife suggested aspirin and it's been working. I'll see how it goes tomorrow.

I got my shot Wednesday and now have had a headache for 2 days now. I never got headaches with the shots in my lumbar. Sure hope it's gone by tomorrow. Thx

I got a cortisone injection in my knee yesterday. I asked the doctor about side effects. He told me that a headache is a possible side effect. I went to bed last night with a headache and got up at 5 AM with a headache and very sweaty (which the doctor did not mention but other here have said they have experienced the over heated feeling). I guess not having the pain in my knee that I have had is worth it if this go on and on!

I have had a horrible headache for five days since cortisone shot in shoulder. I am nauseous, clammy, dizzy and lightheaded as well. Then I get horrid hot flashes and my body gets very very red. I feel like I am dying. When does this end? Don't know how much longer I can take my head ache and other symptoms with out going mad. I thought I was going crazy but feel a bit better after reading some of these posts with people experiencing similar things. Do I call the doctor tomorrow? It will be Day 6 tomorrow.

I got a cortisone shot in my knee yesterday and had a severe headache all through the night that prevented me from sleeping. Took 500mg of Tylenol with no effect. Didn't want to take Motrin on an empty stomach. Is this unusual?

i've gotten them before from my back injections but this headache is the worst ever I felt like somebody is inside my brain banging with a hammer not a regular headache I hit it from the top of the head side of the head my jawswere a pulsating in pain
Tried using the ice pack it helped a little bit but at times it made it worse
I took Tylenol but it doesn't do very much for this type of headache
My face is all red today and my neck and I am hot as HE double hockey sticks

EVERY time I get a cortisone injection, I get an intense headache for 1-2 days afterward. I got a second injection in my left knee five days ago, and have had a headache since then, so this is the longest it has persisted and I'm going in tomorrow to be seen. NSAIDS don't help the headache, migraine pill (Imitrix ) helps best, but I don't want to overdo that. Yikes, I think I'm done with steroids.
