I used monistat 7 day cream for the first time because I started getting symptoms of a yeast infection. On the 3rd day I started bleeding, I am not due to start my period for 2 weeks but every time I wipe there is blood. I started using tampons but when I went to change it there was only a minimal amount of blood so that's when I knew that this was not my period and it had something to do with the use of the monistat. I stopped using the monistat because of the bleeding but now I see that a lot of women are experiencing the same thing. I'm going to consult with my doctor because I also had slight cramping and I don't even get cramping with my actual period.

I wanted to ask you how it finished. I took monistat 1 last Wednesday and got a heavy bleeding/period without any cramps. It's more liquid as usual and my menstrual cup is not holding it. My period as supposed to be in 9 days...

Wow same here! I took monistat 1 day yesterday around 8pm and started bleeding today around 2 pm very heavy in underwear and honestly I thought it was the monistat coming out so I didn’t pay much attention and took a nap. When I woke and noticed it was blood I looked at the Calander and was very shocked because I have another week at least maybe 2 until I was supposed to start. My periods are irregular anyway but now that I’m thinking about it this happens every time I treat myself for a yeast infection whether it be with vinigar or peroxide or an insert. I don’t think this is my period though because if I remember correctly the cup wouldn’t catch anything last time, I bled mostly when using the restroom. Anyway so I ended up starting like a few days after this same thing stopped and that one was my real and true period. So I’m not sure what this is and why it happens? You would think there’s a huge problem with this monistat or using the yeast infection remidies we’ve been using. Please someone help to figure this out!

It started out as BV the Gyn prescribed the Metronidazole gel. After the five days of prescribe use it turned into a yeast infection. I googled to find out that this was a common side effect. I decided to try the 3 day monistat. After day two of using the monistat I notice small about of bleeding during urination. I thought perharps I cut myself with applicator. The bleeding was during urination. During the second day the bleeding appeared to be period blood, However, my very consistent wasn't dure for four days. That is when I google and found this site. I find that the correlation of timing of the symptoms are equal.

So I took monistat 1, and I'm peeing more and it seems like a lot more than usual. Is this normal? And has this happened to anyone else? I took the monistat two days ago.

This is so shocking, I did not know bleeding was a possible factor. I started Monistat 7 for a yeast infection last week, and started seeing blood after the third dose. There is still blood and some 'vaginal lining' when I dab my opening with a damp cloth to clean, and some irritation when peeing. Have stopped taking it, and will try taking lukewarm baths with baking soda or oatmeal. Is it true that cutting sugar and eating probiotic yogurt really helps?
