I am scheduled to have an Endoscopic Discectomy on my lower back at the end of this month. I am trying to find out as much information as possible before I commit. My GP told me to get a second opinion from a neurosurgeon because he has heard there is some controversy regarding this procedure. The biggest thing holding me back is the recovery. I work out almost every day and they are telling me the recovery is about 4-6 weeks. UGH!!!! Help!!!!

You can still use an electrical muscle stimulator (EMS) to induce passive muscle contractions while you are in recovery. Such mini-workouts will help retain muscle function.
