This is my second round of cortisone shots in less than one year. I sympathize with everybody that is having trouble with it. when you first go in and they tell you you're going to receive a cortisone shot they don't tell you the side effects of it, they either say there are no side effects or they tell you just a few of them, but they don't tell you the ones that cause the most reaction. Since I have been receiving them the insomnia is hell, the dizziness, the sweating, the nausea, the pain, the mood swings, severe headaches, the fainting. It's like these doctors get off on our pain. It has been 3 weeks almost to the day, since my last shot and for some unknown reason my body feels the need to produce these little welts all over my arm that itch like crazy and it feels like my wrist has been bitten by a thousand fire ants. I have never felt anything as bad as this minus giving birth, but at this point in time I think this surpasses that. I was diagnosed with De Quervain's tenosynovitis as well as other tendonitis in my right wristjust over a year ago (March 1, 2017). I had surgery back in August of last year and my doctor told me that everything will be fine. My pain never got any better it actually got worse. The ortho surgeon is actually talking about a second surgery in the same spot, the first one was for the muscles where they released the tendon and now he wants to go into the joint. I have spent so many nights laying awake due to the insomnia, before the injection I would sleep 8 maybe 10 hours a night, now I'm lucky if I get 8 in a full day the most I get it any one time is 4 hours. I find myself taking naps throughout the day just to catch up for the 8 hours. I will never do this again I would rather deal with the pain or have other surgeries than ever get another Cortisone injection.
