when I woke up, i went to the bathroom, and I looked in my panties and there was brown/ red stuff everywhere, and on the toilet paper. So I changed panties and took a bath, but when I put on new panties, there was a good sized red spot on my panties. Did I just start my period. Help!!!

Yes sweety, you just had your first period. Welcome to womanhood. Please do inform your mother, who might help you with information and supplies on pads and stuff. Periods are nothing to be scared about, though for good one year or so, you may not have them regularly, they will stabilize and come in periodic cycles. Meanwhile maintain hygiene in the area, wipe front to back. Eat well, sleep well and drink plenty of water. Good luck
