I have been weening myself off of Lexapro for the past couple of months, taking my last 5mg almost a week ago. I don't feel anxious or depressed, but I feel everything else. The worst problem that I can't seem to get control is this "jittery leg" feeling. My legs feel like they're moving by themselves and it's driving me crazy....I can't sleep and that's only compounding the problem.
Can someone please help me and tell me how long this will last ???

The medical community recommends that Lexapro withdrawal be closely monitored by a physician. For self care, I would suggest regular physical exercise (aerobic and weight training) to counteract the withdrawal symptoms of Lexapro. Jittery leg syndrome may be controlled by performing calf raises using heavy weights on a machine to exhaustion, knee flexion and extension using medium weights on a machine to exhaustion. See a personal trainer for the best ways for you to perform these exercises.

Well, this sorta doesn't help me right now ,as I just had ACL replacement a couple of months back and am still sorta limited in what I can due.....to exhaustion anyway.
My doctor is aware of my tapering off and I'm following the schedule that he gave me, I just wanted to ask here since you all have real-life experience with these types of drugs.
Any idea on how long it will take for these crazy jitters to go away. I don't want to just take another pill to make it stop, I want it to stop on it's own, and I know that will probably just take some time......but how long ?
